A loud explosion has led to a police investigation after a bus shelter was severely damaged outside Dungannon, raising community concerns.
A local councillor, Clement Cuthbertson, is pretty upset about it. He mentioned that this isn’t the first time this shelter has been targeted. It’s been hit before with paint and graffiti, which is just ridiculous.
The police said they heard the explosion around 4 AM on Saturday. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but they’re looking for a dark-colored vehicle that was spotted nearby.
Cuthbertson reported the incident to the police, and they’ve been investigating it. He’s grateful for the quick response from the property services team to get the shelter back in shape.
Another councillor, Deirdre Varsani, also spoke out against these attacks. She believes people should find better ways to spend their time than vandalizing public property. It’s a real shame that this keeps happening, and the community is hoping for a resolution soon.
