Trowbridge: Several parking bays in Lovemead Car Park are closed this week. This is to make room for a bus service layover.

The council says this is necessary because Wessex Water is working on Broad Street. Their work is blocking buses from using their usual bays.

The closure runs from 6 AM on Wednesday, January 29, to 8 PM on Friday, January 31. Signs warn that cars parked in these spaces may get penalty charges.

Cllr Nick Holder, the Cabinet Member for Highways, explained the situation. He said the parking bays are coned off while Wessex Water works nearby.

He added that the works are preventing local buses from accessing their regular bays. Alternative bays are set up for safe parking and access in and out of the car park.

Cllr Holder believes this temporary change won’t cause issues for car park users. Wessex Water is expected to finish their work by January 31.
