The Maldon nursing team raised £1,185 for five charities by completing a 10K walk
Maldon: The nursing team recently completed a 10K walk for charity. They raised an impressive £1,185 for five important causes. These include Bowel Research UK and Cancer Research UK.
The team included care coordinator Amelia Chapell and her colleagues. They tackled the scenic Thames walk with determination and enthusiasm.
At first, they paced themselves, enjoying the views and the company. As they neared the finish line, their competitive spirit kicked in.
Amelia shared their motivation for the event. She said, “We always fundraise because we’re all about giving back.”
They’ve participated in charity events for years. This walk helped them bond as a team while supporting meaningful causes.
The team finished the walk in 2 hours and 24 minutes. They celebrated with gold medals and a sense of pride.
Amelia noted, “We were relaxed at the start, enjoying the atmosphere.” But as they progressed, they became more competitive.
The day was about teamwork and fitness. Amelia said, “The atmosphere was incredible. Everyone encouraged each other.”
