Ryan Cashman, a 17-year-old antique enthusiast, will meet the Mayor of Maldon this Saturday at Moot Hall for a special tour.
His room is like a time capsule, filled with 1920s to 1940s décor and unique furniture. He even made a brochure called ‘The Cashman Collection’ to showcase his antiques and meals, which he sells on eBay.
Ryan also buys and sells antiques online. He’s really dedicated to his passion. Despite health challenges as a child, he did great at Plume Academy in Maldon. He earned several awards, including the Plume Academy Award and the Weedon Cup for Excellence in Design and Technology.
He achieved results that were two grades above expectations. Unfortunately, he missed the awards ceremony due to college commitments in Chelmsford, so he didn’t get to meet the mayor then.
But now, he has another chance! This Saturday, he’ll meet the Mayor at Moot Hall and get a private tour of the historic building. His parents are thrilled.
Ryan’s mom, Nicola, said he excels at everything he tries. She thinks his bedroom looks like a professional interior designer did it. Plus, he’s even writing his first book!
Ryan loves architecture and antiques, so he’s studying graphics and design at college. He dreams of making a career out of his passion. His dad, Philip, is proud and excited for him to meet the Mayor. Who knows, maybe one day Ryan will be the mayor himself!
