A young man was arrested in Abingdon for spray-painting racist graffiti, shocking the local community and prompting police investigations.
Abingdon: So, there’s been some pretty upsetting news coming out of Abingdon. A young guy got arrested for spraying some really nasty graffiti around town. It’s just awful to see that kind of stuff happening.
The Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest happened yesterday. They’ve been on the lookout and even stopped a few young men over the weekend who might have been involved. It sounds like they’re really trying to get to the bottom of this.
In a Facebook post, the police mentioned that the local team is aware of the graffiti incidents that have been popping up since the New Year. It’s not just a few tags; we’re talking about some seriously offensive stuff on buildings and cars.
The police expressed how dismayed they are about this behavior in what they call a lovely town. They know it’s upset a lot of folks in the community, and honestly, who wouldn’t be? It’s just not right.
They also shared that PCSO Blood and some CCTV operators have been working hard to investigate. On Saturday, they stopped a couple of young men who they thought might be linked to the graffiti. Eventually, one of them was arrested and taken into custody.
