An 85-year-old man was discovered deceased in his car at a hospital, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death
Cheshire: An inquest kicked off at Warrington Coroner’s Court about Malcolm Howell’s death. He was 85 and passed away on December 29 at Macclesfield Hospital.
During the hearing, it was revealed that he was found in his car with a gun in his hand and a wound to the back of his head. Quite a shocking scene, right?
Cheshire Police don’t suspect foul play, which is a relief. A family member confirmed his identity to the police on New Year’s Eve.
Since the cause of death was labeled ‘unnatural,’ a coroner officer asked for the inquest to be opened. They want to gather more information before moving forward.
They’ve set a date for an internal review on March 16 and a full inquest for May 12. Victoria Davies, the area coroner, noted the circumstances clearly indicate an unnatural cause of death.
She officially opened the inquest and decided to pause it for now until more details can be gathered.
