A man was raped near a children’s park in Margate, prompting a major police investigation and a call for witnesses to come forward.
This happened on Tuesday evening, between 8:30 and 9:30 PM, along the promenade near the Viking Ship Play Park. It’s a pretty busy area, so they’re hoping someone noticed something unusual.
The police have cordoned off Newgate Gap as they gather evidence. The victim was approached by another man during the incident, which is really concerning.
The suspect is described as slim, under 5 feet 5 inches tall, and in his early 20s. He was reportedly wearing a black hooded coat and tracksuit.
Officers are still on the scene, and they’ve been seen blocking off parts of Ethelbert Crescent. If you have any information, or even dashcam footage, the police want to hear from you.
