A man was rescued from a fire in West Norwood, London, and taken to the hospital after firefighters battled the blaze for an hour.
London: Firefighters did an amazing job rescuing a man from a fire in West Norwood. It all went down at a ground-floor flat on Gipsy Road.
The London Fire Brigade got the call around 9:16 PM on a Saturday night. They sent four fire engines and about 25 firefighters to tackle the flames.
After about an hour of hard work, they managed to rescue the man, who was then taken to the hospital. Thankfully, he’s getting the care he needs.
The fire caused some damage to the flat, which had three rooms. By 10:17 PM, the firefighters had the situation under control.
Crews from Norbury, Brixton, and Tooting fire stations all pitched in to help. Right now, they’re still looking into what caused the fire.
A spokesperson from the fire brigade mentioned how quickly they responded and how important it was to get the man out safely. It’s a relief that everyone is okay.
