A man threatened a pub manager with a knife after being asked to leave, leading to serious legal consequences.
Wrexham: So, there was this guy, Adam Rogers, who got into some serious trouble at the Midland pub. He showed up in court recently after a wild night out.
Rogers, 39, had a few drinks and things got out of hand. When the manager, Lindsey Holman, asked him to leave, he didn’t take it well. He got all aggressive and even threatened to smash a glass over her head.
As he was leaving, he punched another customer for no reason. Then, right outside, he pulled out a retractable knife and made a pretty scary threat to Lindsey. She thought he was going to stab her!
He tossed the knife away in an alley, but the police caught him on CCTV. When they found him, he was still acting tough. Turns out, he’s got a pretty long rap sheet with 37 convictions for various offenses.
Lindsey shared how unsafe she felt after the incident, saying it really shook her up. She hasn’t felt comfortable working evenings since then.
His lawyer tried to argue that he was making progress after getting clean from drugs, but the judge wasn’t buying it. He pointed out that Rogers had a pretty flimsy excuse for having the knife, claiming he’d just forgotten it after gardening.
The judge made it clear that this kind of behavior is taken seriously. In the end, Rogers got 15 months in prison and a restraining order keeping him away from the pub for three years. It’s a tough lesson learned for him.
