McGill’s is raising ticket prices for various bus services, effective January 27, to manage rising operational costs while enhancing service quality.
Glasgow: So, McGill’s just announced they’re hiking up their bus ticket prices. Starting January 27, you’ll see changes for single, return, and even weekly and monthly passes. They say it’s all about keeping up with rising costs.
They run a bunch of services around Glasgow, like the number 3 from Neilston and the N3 from the city center to Pollok. There are also routes from Largs to Glasgow and Shawlands to Silverburn, among others.
A spokesperson mentioned they’re trying to keep the impact on customers as low as possible while still investing in better buses and services. They’re even introducing zero-emission vehicles, which is pretty cool.
As for the price increase, it could be as little as 10p for some fares. They’ve got a whole list of changes coming, so it’s worth checking out.
You can buy tickets on the bus with cash or contactless, or just grab the McGill’s app. They’re phasing out the GoSmart Cards, so keep that in mind. And hey, if you’re a young person in Scotland aged five to 21, don’t forget you can travel for free with a Young Scot card!
