Inverclyde is bracing for strong winds as the Met Office issues a yellow alert for the weekend, urging locals to prepare.
Inverclyde: The Met Office is warning folks about some serious winds coming our way. A deep low pressure system is set to hit the west of Scotland and Northern Ireland this Friday and Saturday.
The yellow alert kicks in at midnight on Friday and lasts until noon on Saturday. So, if you’ve got plans, you might want to rethink them.
According to the Met Office, we can expect strong southeasterly to southwesterly winds. Gusts could reach 50-60 mph inland and even 70-80 mph along the coast. Yikes!
They say the winds should start to calm down a bit on Saturday afternoon, but until then, it’s going to be a wild ride.
Locals are being told to secure any loose items outside their homes. It’s also a good idea to check travel plans, just in case there are delays.
And if you’re near the coast, keep an eye out for those big waves that can come with this kind of weather. Stay safe out there!
