Stockton: Haider Ali, 31, attacked two women in the area. He raped his first victim twice near a derelict building on Yarm Road.

He started by complimenting her, saying she was “lovely.” Then, he pushed her down and assaulted her for an hour.

After this, he was caught on CCTV running away. He then found another woman on Spring Street.

Ali grabbed her, kissed her, and raped her despite her saying no. He begged her not to call the police before fleeing.

This happened overnight from September 7 to 8 last year. His picture was released, and he was arrested two days later.

When police found him, he had shaved his beard and claimed the acts were consensual. He faced three counts of rape in court.

This week, he was found guilty on all counts and will be sentenced on March 17.

Detective Inspector Matt Hollingsworth praised the victims for their bravery. They reported the incidents and provided detailed accounts.

He noted that Ali is a sexual predator who showed no remorse for his actions. The victims’ courage has helped protect others from similar attacks.
