Newquay: A mini-tornado hit the resort town, causing quite a stir. It all went down on Thursday, and folks were left in disbelief.

People caught the wild scene on their phones. You could see debris flying everywhere on a street in Quintrell Downs. It was like something out of a movie!

Rubbish was tossed around, smashing into houses and cars. Caravans at a nearby holiday park were flipped over. It was a real mess.

Residents shared photos of their damaged roofs and walls. You could feel the shock in their voices. It was just crazy to see the destruction.

This all happened right before a yellow wind warning from the Met Office. Storm Eowyn was on its way, and it didn’t hold back.

Cheryl Foers, a local, described it as a freak event. She said everything was swirling in the air, and it all happened so fast.

She recalled a light breeze turning into a strong wind, and then boom—a tornado! Trees were uprooted, and it was over in just seconds.

Cheryl mentioned the damage, with roofs missing and trees down. It was dangerous, and then just like that, the tornado moved on.

Trevornick Holiday Park reported some damage in a small area. They’re working on cleaning up the mess. Videos showed the aftermath, with debris everywhere.

The winds hit between 9:30 and 9:45 AM GMT. A spokesperson from the park said they were still trying to wrap their heads around what happened.

In the UK, about 30 tornadoes pop up each year. They’re usually small and quick but can still cause some serious damage.

Just the night before, there was a warning for possible tornadoes in southern England. And now, a red weather warning is out for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.

Gusts could reach up to 80 mph, and the Met Office warned about flying debris and dangerous conditions along the coast.

For the latest on Storm Eowyn, keep an eye on the live updates!
