Mold: Wildcats Shoes and Accessories is closing its doors for good at the end of February. Owner Pauline Humphreys has decided to retire after 25 years in business.

Pauline and her husband Ian started the shop back in 2000, selling quality ladies’ shoes and clothing. They also ran a gift shop next door called Alleycats. Ian retired five years ago, but Pauline kept things going until now.

She expressed her gratitude to all the loyal customers who supported them over the years. It’s bittersweet news, but Pauline and her long-time staff, Pam and Norma, are looking forward to spending more time with family.

Reflecting on the journey, Pauline shared how they began the business when their sons were just little kids. She had a background in administration, which helped her navigate the retail world.

At one point, they even had three shops in Mold and others in Denbigh and Ruthin. Pauline credits her family and staff for their support throughout the years.

Since announcing the closure, they’ve received an outpouring of love from customers who will miss the personal touch of the shop. The store will remain open until the end of February 2025, with a closing down sale happening in January and February. So, if you want to grab some last-minute deals, now’s the time!
