Canvey: There’s been a lot of trouble at Canvey Retail Park lately. Essex Police are asking for help after yobs have been causing chaos for shop staff.
Staff at Morrisons and Marks & Spencer have been threatened, which is just awful. It’s not just a one-off either; there have been multiple incidents.
Police are on it, though. They’re looking into the situation and checking out CCTV to find out who’s behind this nonsense. They want to talk to the kids involved and their parents.
And if you’re shopping there and see any trouble, don’t hesitate to call the police. They’re increasing foot patrols, so you’ll likely see officers around more often.
This isn’t the first time Canvey Retail Park has had issues. There have been problems with boy racing and theft in the past, too. Just last year, police had to issue a dispersal order because of a big car meet.
In September, a guy got banned from the local Co-op and Nisa Stores after he was caught shoplifting multiple times. It’s clear that something needs to change.
