Road closures in Nairnshire are set to begin due to BT Openreach works, affecting local access and traffic.
The C1163 road, which leads to the Nairn Camping and Caravanning Club site, is shutting down starting today. They’ll have diversions set up, but locals can still get through.
Also, the C1157 and C1174 roads near Fornighty will close on Monday, February 3, for the same reason. Again, traffic management will be in place, and local access will be maintained.
Local councillor Paul Oldham mentioned these closures in his latest newsletter. He also shared that a contract has been awarded to fix a bridge parapet on the U2297 road at Drumduan Mill, which is currently closed.
He explained that they’ll use lime mortar for the repairs since it’s better against moisture. But, they need dry and warm weather for it to set properly, so they expect to start the repairs around mid-March at the earliest.
