First Bus is launching new routes to enhance travel options for Balloch and Helensburgh residents
Dumbarton: Starting Sunday, March 2, First Bus Service 1/A will run more frequently between Dumbarton town center and Glasgow.
New local routes 204 and 205 will serve Balloch. They will replace parts of the current Service 1/A. This change aims to provide better connections and coverage for passengers.
Service 206 will now extend from Westcliff to Helensburgh, taking over from the old Service 1B.
Passengers traveling from Glasgow to Balloch or Helensburgh will need to switch buses in Dumbarton. They can catch the new 204, 205, or 206 routes to reach their destinations.
Service 1E will still run between Balloch and Glasgow. It will now go directly from Clydebank to Yoker via Glasgow Road.
Service M11 will be renamed Service 11. It will cover the route from Mountblow to Gartnavel Hospital via Clydebank, replacing Service 1D.
Chris Coleman, Head of Network for First Bus in Glasgow, shared that they’ve worked hard to improve the bus network. He believes these changes will make travel more reliable and convenient for everyone in Dumbarton, Balloch, and Helensburgh.
He added that the new 204/205 routes and the extended 206 will enhance local connections and improve the overall experience for passengers.
