Tenby Museum and Art Gallery welcomes Andrew Edwards and Neil Westerman as new Chair and Vice Chair, ensuring continued community support.
Tenby: The Trustees at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery have new leaders. Andrew Edwards is the new Chair, and Neil Westerman is the Vice Chair. They were appointed during the Annual General Meeting.
This change comes after County Councillor Michael Williams stepped down. The museum also mourned the loss of former Vice Chair, Dr. Michael Brew.
Andrew and Neil both have strong backgrounds in museums and heritage. Julie Evans, the Honorary Secretary, praised the previous leaders for their years of service.
Julie highlighted Michael’s nearly 40 years of dedication to the museum. She noted his behind-the-scenes work, from fixing alarms to managing repairs.
She also mentioned his connections in the community, which helped the museum thrive. Michael will remain a Trustee, continuing his support.
Hannah Saunders has been promoted to Curator, moving up from her previous role. The museum is currently closed for winter maintenance and will reopen on February 15.
As the oldest independent museum in Wales, Tenby Museum is preparing for its 150th anniversary in 2028. A new art exhibition by Mohamed Hassan will open on March 22.
The Board of Trustees aims to enhance the museum’s financial sustainability and community partnerships. The museum serves both locals and visitors.
