Raydon: A new community pavilion is on the way. The old one is worn out and needs replacing. The King George’s Field Trustees want to tear down the current pavilion and build a new one.

This pavilion has been around for 24 years. It has hosted many social and recreational events. However, it’s now showing its age and needs investment.

Since the old pavilion was only meant to be temporary, fixing it up isn’t an option. A complete rebuild is necessary to meet the community’s needs.

The new pavilion will have changing facilities for local football clubs. This is important for keeping the playing fields active and used by residents.

Cllr John Ward, the deputy leader of Babergh District Council, supports this plan. He believes a new pavilion is crucial, especially after the village hall was sold for housing.

Mr. Ward expressed strong support for the project. He noted that the current pavilion is at the end of its life. The village hall wasn’t suitable for community activities either.

He believes the new pavilion will be a great asset for Raydon. The King George’s Field is an excellent location for it. Many villagers are excited about this project.

The team behind the new pavilion has worked hard and secured funding, including money from the village hall sale.
