Winchester Guildhall is busy with ceiling repairs after a plaster failure, but alternative arrangements for events are being made
Winchester: The repairs at the Guildhall have been going on for almost two months now. It all started at the end of November when a small part of the ceiling plaster fell. This caused a bit of a stir, and several events had to be canceled.
But don’t worry! The Winchester City Council has been on the ball. They’ve managed to shift bookings to other rooms in the building, so folks can still enjoy their events without too much hassle.
A council spokesperson mentioned that they had to close Bapsy Hall temporarily for safety reasons. They brought in a specialist to check things out, and it turns out some repairs were necessary before they could reopen.
They’ve already set up scaffolding and are getting the prep work done. The council is in touch with event organizers to keep everyone in the loop and minimize any disruptions. Sounds like they’re handling it pretty well!
