Newport Council has made decisions on various planning applications, including extensions and changes of use for residential properties
They withdrew plans to demolish two residential buildings for new units. This was for land near Quilter Close and Penkin Hill.
The council also refused plans for seven apartments at the West of England Hotel. They turned down a single-storey extension on Greenmeadow Road too.
A request for a front porch on Vancouver Drive was also denied.
However, a single-storey rear extension on Ridgeway Avenue was approved with conditions. They also approved relocating an extraction flue on Speke Street.
A part two-storey, part single-storey rear extension on Malpas Road got the green light, along with a change from an animal re-homing centre to a mediation centre.
They also approved some conditions for a new storage building at Level Court Farm in Goldcliff.
Additionally, they granted partial discharge for a battery energy storage system at Uskmouth Power Station in Nash.
Lastly, Newport Council allowed a garage to be transformed into a living area on Myrtle Drive in Rogerstone.
