Next has secured a new clothing store at Ripon’s St Michael’s Retail Park, completing the £10m development.
The £10 million project wrapped up in 2020, featuring a Marks & Spencer Foodhall. M&S is expanding its store by adding 5,000 sq ft, bringing it to 16,000 sq ft.
Next is moving in next door, taking over 8,000 sq ft for a new clothing store. Both shops will open fully this summer, making the retail park completely let.
Mark Rothery from Rothstone Estates mentioned that the process took longer than expected. However, they are thrilled to have secured such well-known retailers.
William Smith, M&S Property Director, expressed excitement about the expansion. The new store will have a bigger bakery, more flowers, and a cheese bar featuring Yorkshire Blue.
Charlie Greenhalgh from Lamb & Swift Commercial noted that St Michael’s Retail Park is the only modern retail space in Ripon with free parking. The interest from national retailers has been strong.
Manchester-based Cheetham & Mortimer helped M&S with the expansion plans. Everyone is looking forward to a busy summer at the retail park.
