Plans for ninety homes on Bretforton Road face objections from locals and require further planning discussions
Badsey: Plans for ninety homes off Bretforton Road are under review. The approval is subject to several planning conditions.
More than a month has passed since the public consultation ended. The parish council wasn’t formally notified about changes from Highways.
The Wychavon Planning Committee will discuss the plans next. If approved, a detailed planning application will follow.
Over 150 residents have voiced their concerns. The parish council, along with locals, strongly opposes the development.
A parish council spokesperson mentioned new documents from Worcestershire Highways. These documents recommend approval for the developments.
Despite this, the parish council has consistently opposed the plans. They cite increased traffic as a major concern.
The council plans to attend the upcoming Wychavon Planning Committee meetings to express their objections. They encourage residents to join them.
Traffic lights are proposed at the Bretforton Road and Birmingham Road junction to ease congestion. The homes will vary in size to meet local needs.
Some residents, like Adrian Bennington, argue that Badsey’s infrastructure can’t handle more housing. They feel the roads are already too busy.
Marion Jones also objects, stating that the plans won’t improve safety. She worries about traffic backups and the impact on local wildlife.
