Next week, residents in North Berwick will experience a power outage as essential upgrades are made to the electricity network in their area
North Berwick: Residents in the Ferrygate Meadow area got a heads-up about a power cut coming next Wednesday. The outage will last from 9 am to 4 pm.
SP Energy Networks is behind this work, aiming to upgrade the local electricity network. They sent out letters to keep everyone in the loop.
The letter explained that since folks are connected to a specific electricity network, they need to be informed about any planned interruptions. It’s all part of keeping things safe while they work.
They mentioned that they’ll do their best to finish up quickly, but if anything unexpected pops up, the outage might last longer than planned.
While they know this might be a hassle, they assured residents that this work is crucial for maintaining a reliable power supply.
A spokesperson from SP Energy Networks added that this planned outage is necessary for safety while their engineers do the upgrades. They also apologized for any trouble it might cause.
Although they didn’t have an exact number, it seems the entire estate, which is relatively new, will be affected.
One resident who works from home expressed frustration, saying she couldn’t claim compensation for lost earnings since she’d have to take a day off due to the lack of Wi-Fi and lighting.
She pointed out that many people work from home these days and wondered what they were supposed to do during the outage.
