North Berwick: So, here’s the scoop. BT Openreach was all set to kick off some work on Station Hill, which would have meant closing it down until February 4. They had planned a bunch of parking suspensions and road diversions too.

But then, SGN engineers showed up on Station Road because of a gas escape. They’re saying it’s too early to tell how long those repairs will take. So, to avoid messing up traffic even more, they decided to put the Station Hill work on hold.

The BT folks will have to reschedule their plans for the full fibre network rollout, but they haven’t given a new date yet. An SGN spokesperson mentioned they’re working as fast as they can to fix the gas issue while keeping everyone safe.

They’ve set up three-way temporary traffic lights to manage the flow. BT Openreach added that they’ll come back to clear a blocked duct later on. It’s all part of their effort to bring full fibre broadband to more homes in North Berwick, which is already available to a third of the area.
