Join the fun at the Farmers’ Choir Concert in Inverurie, supporting RSABI with music, laughter, and an exciting auction
Inverurie: The north-east farming community is gearing up for a fantastic evening at The Farmers’ Choir Concert. It’s all happening at the ANM Group’s Thainstone Centre, and the best part? It’s for a great cause—supporting the agricultural charity RSABI.
Harvey Stuart, a trainee auctioneer, will be leading the auction, and he’s pretty excited about it. He’s also got Kate Picken MBE as the choirmaster, which is a nice touch. The concert is set for February 22, and it promises to be a night filled with uplifting music and some fun auction items.
Harvey, who’s been working with ANM Group, is looking forward to this unique chance to gain experience. He grew up on a farm in Glenlivet, so auctioneering feels like a natural fit for him. He’s always been interested in it, especially after spending time at the mart with his family.
He shared, “I really enjoy it and it’s good fun being out on the road, meeting new farmers and customers.” He’s eager to take on the role of auctioneer at the concert, seeing it as an incredible opportunity to support a cause that means a lot to the community.
The auction will feature some exciting items, like go-karting for six at Lochter Activity Centre, a return trip for two on Northlink Ferries, and even a three-ball at Cruden Bay Golf Club. Sounds like a blast, right?
Jane Mitchell, the chairwoman of RSABI, expressed her gratitude to Harvey and all the sponsors for making this event possible. She’s looking forward to a night of music and camaraderie, especially during this challenging time of year for farmers.
The concert will showcase the 80-strong Farmers’ Choir, performing beloved classics from popular musicals. It’ll be hosted by farmer-comedian Jim Smith, who’s also an ambassador for RSABI’s #KeepTalking campaign.
Tickets are still available for £25, which includes a free program and entry into a prize draw for a year’s supply of chocolate and ice cream from Mackie’s. All proceeds will support RSABI’s vital services for those in the Scottish agricultural community facing tough times.
If you’re interested, you can grab tickets on EventBrite, where you’ll also find more details about the event. RSABI offers free support services, including counseling, available 24/7. It’s a great way to give back while enjoying a fun night out!
