A man has been charged with attempted murder after a nurse was stabbed in a hospital attack, now identified as Achamma Cherian
Oldham: So, there was this really shocking incident at a hospital recently. A nurse named Achamma Cherian got seriously hurt when a man attacked her. The guy, Roman Haque, is 37 years old and has been charged with attempted murder.
This all went down late at night in the hospital’s acute medical unit. Roman appeared in court, and it was a pretty quick hearing. He didn’t even enter a plea, and his lawyer said he wouldn’t be applying for bail.
He was dressed in a grey sweatshirt and looked pretty serious as he stood there. The judge told him that this case is too serious for a lower court, so it’ll be handled by a crown court next month.
Meanwhile, the police are really focused on supporting Achamma and her family as she recovers. They’re working with the NHS to help everyone affected by this awful situation.
