Basingstoke: On January 21, Rebecca Yarros released Onyx Storm, the latest in her Empyrean series. To celebrate, Waterstones in Basingstoke is throwing a special event on January 24.

They’re calling it An Evening in Basgiath Academy, and it kicks off at 5:30 PM. Expect fun activities, a quiz, bookmark making, snacks, and a raffle, with proceeds going to Book Trust.

Fans were so eager for the book that they lined up outside the store on release day. Kirsty, the manager, is buzzing about the event, saying it’s going to be incredible and unlike anything they’ve done before.

They’re even encouraging everyone to dress up, reminding fans to bring their best flying uniform. Tickets are £25, which includes the book, but they’ve already sold out online.

In the US, a special edition from Target had fans waiting until 3 AM for the online release, causing the website to crash from all the excitement.

The series follows Violet Sorrengail as she trains to be a dragon rider at Basgiath War College. Onyx Storm dives into her journey during a tense time when she needs to find allies to face her foes.

The first two books, Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, were huge hits on Goodreads and topped the New York Times Best Seller list. Plus, Fourth Wing is getting an Amazon TV series, produced by Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.

On release day, Rebecca shared on Instagram, thanking fans and encouraging them to enjoy the ride. It’s an exciting time for fans of the series!
