North Wales Police are cracking down on youth-related anti-social behaviour in Wrexham
Last weekend, officers stopped several youths during the operation. Some were sent away from a bus stop in Rhos. One youth received a community protection notice for causing a nuisance.
This operation started last October after similar incidents. Wrexham Rural Inspector Stefan Lederle and City Inspector Heidi Stokes are addressing community concerns. They aim to deter crime and reassure residents.
Inspector Lederle met with local councillors to discuss concerns and actions. Increased foot patrols will be in place in hotspot areas. Plain-clothed patrols will also engage with youths.
Officers will ride some bus routes to deter incidents. They received reports of youths intimidating drivers. Convenience stores targeted in the past will get advice to protect themselves.
Dispersal orders are authorized to remove troublemakers from areas. All incidents will be dealt with seriously. Identifying individuals involved will lead to further action.
Tackling anti-social behaviour is a priority. The police encourage reporting any incidents. They take all reports seriously and won’t tolerate unacceptable behaviour. Parents should also know where their children are and what they are doing.
