Blackburn: So, here’s the scoop. Christopher Grogan, a 41-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, got into some serious trouble after a call to the police. When officers showed up, he was at the kitchen sink, tending to a cut on his hand. But instead of being cooperative, he decided to resist and ended up assaulting one of the officers.

He pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker and resisting arrest. The court didn’t take it lightly. They slapped him with a 12-month community order and a 60-day alcohol monitoring tag. Plus, he has to cough up £100 to the officer he assaulted and £75 to each of the other officers involved.

The judge, District Judge Alexandra Preston, pointed out how distressing this must have been for the child who called 999 in the first place. Instead of calming things down, Grogan’s actions just made everything worse. Prosecutors said he was a handful from the get-go, even elbowing one officer and getting taken down to the ground. He ended up losing consciousness after hitting his head.

When they finally got him outside, he tried to kick and knee-strike the officers. His lawyer mentioned that Grogan now gets why the police had to act the way they did. He even got knocked out during the chaos and ended up with a fractured wrist. After spending three nights in a police cell, he finally got bail. What a wild situation!
