Woodstock Primary School is thrilled to receive funding for solar panels, aiming to boost sustainability and educate students on renewable energy.
Woodstock: The school just scored a sweet deal with a £70,000 loan from Oxfordshire County Council. They’re all set to install solar panels, which is pretty exciting!
This interest-free loan program started in July 2023. It’s designed to help schools cut down on energy use and save some cash.
Woodstock Primary School was the seventh school to grab a piece of the £800,000 fund. They applied for just over £69,000, and it’s a big win for them.
Anne Hipwell, the headteacher, couldn’t be happier. She said this loan will help them go green and make the school more sustainable.
Plus, it’s a great chance to get the kids involved. They’ll learn about renewable energy and sustainability right from the source!
Councillor John Howson mentioned that the solar panels could save about 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. If all schools benefit similarly, it’ll really help Oxfordshire go green.
