West Bay: Pauline Quirke, the beloved actress known for her role in Broadchurch, has been diagnosed with dementia. Her husband, Steve Sheen, shared that she will step back from all professional work.
He expressed his sadness over her decision, highlighting her inspiring career and contributions to the arts. Pauline has touched many lives through her work and her academy for young performers.
She gained fame as Sharon in Birds of a Feather and starred in Broadchurch alongside David Tennant. Pauline fell in love with West Bay while filming and even bought a place there.
In 2022, she received an MBE for her charitable work and dedication to the entertainment industry. Although her acting career is ending, her academy will continue to thrive.
Steve requested privacy for their family during this tough time, as they focus on spending time together. They plan to support Alzheimer’s Research UK in the future, following the example of others who have raised awareness for dementia.
