Southampton: Today, Ukip leader Nick Tenconi is back for an anti-immigration march in the city center. His last speech was canceled in December, but he’s ready to make a statement now.

In a social media post back then, he promised to show ‘no mercy’ to what he called ‘domestic terrorists.’ But locals aren’t having it. They’re gathering at the Bargate at noon to protest his return.

Satvir Kaur, the Labour MP for Southampton Test, expressed her pride in the city’s diversity. She firmly stated that hate from distant billionaires won’t be tolerated here.

She said, “Southampton is great because of our diversity. People have been making this city their home for ages, and it’s made us who we are.”

She’s all about standing up for the community, emphasizing that anyone trying to spread hate doesn’t represent the city. “I’m proud to live here and represent our diverse community,” she added.

Jayanti Shah, an anti-racism campaigner, has lived in Southampton since 1968. He believes today is one of the most challenging times for racial issues in the city.

He hopes for a peaceful counter-protest to show that hate isn’t welcome. “Southampton is comfortable with its diversity, but we have to keep fighting for it,” he said.

Tenconi, who has been leading Ukip since last June, is ready to confront what he calls ‘anarchy and chaos.’ But the city council is on alert, warning against any violence.

Councillor Lorna Fielker confirmed that police will be monitoring both protests to keep things peaceful. “Southampton has a history of welcoming people, and we’ll ensure this event remains safe,” she stated.

Leaflets from Ukip have been distributed, urging people to “take our city back.” In response, local groups are rallying together to oppose the march.

Southampton Stand Up to Racism and the Trades Union Council are calling for unity against hate. They’re proud of their vibrant, diverse community and invite everyone to join them at the Bargate.
