Pitsea: A tragic hit-and-run occurred on Saturday evening. Roman, 16, and his sister Darcie, 9, were struck by a car in Ashlyns. Sadly, they died at the scene.

Essex Police arrested a man and a woman in their 20s. They are suspected of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Roman was involved with Achievement Through Football (ATF). He became a multi-sport community coach last year, helping kids connect with their community.

ATF shared a GoFundMe for the family. They expressed their deep sadness over losing Roman and Darcie, who were loved by many.

The GoFundMe has raised over £26,000 to support the family. It aims to give the siblings the send-off they deserve.

Essex Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. You can contact them at 101 or through their website.

Detective Sergeant Sam Nason is leading the investigation. He emphasized the need for privacy for the family during this difficult time.

He urged people not to speculate about the incident and to provide any information they may have.
