Places Leisure has proudly received ‘The Active Standard’ certification, enhancing its commitment to safety and quality in fitness services.
The Active Standard is all about keeping things top-notch in the fitness world. It’s linked with other big schemes like FITcert and Quest, focusing on continuous improvement.
Designed by ukactive, the UK’s go-to trade body for physical activity, this standard was crafted with input from leading experts in the field. It’s aimed at helping gyms and leisure centers boost their quality and get more folks moving.
To earn this certification, Places Leisure had to show they’re serious about health and safety, professional standards, and data protection. They’ll keep this certification for three years before needing a check-up.
Keith Evans, the safety director at Places Leisure, expressed their excitement about the award. He mentioned that it’s a big win for improving service quality across the board.
He also highlighted how important their facilities are to the community and how this certification will help keep them safe and enjoyable.
Huw Edwards, the CEO of ukactive, chimed in too, noting that more people are prioritizing fitness these days. The Active Standard will help ensure everyone can enjoy being active in a safe space.
