Authorities confirm no signs of additional involvement in the tragic deaths of a father and daughter in West Calder
The tragic discovery happened on Monday afternoon at their house on Harburn Drive. Officers were alerted when the little girl didn’t show up for school, which raised concerns among family members.
When police arrived, they couldn’t get in, so they called the fire service for help. Sadly, they found the bodies inside. The police are treating the deaths as unexplained and are waiting for post-mortem results.
Chief Superintendent Gregg Banks mentioned that the child had been staying with her dad for a while due to shared custody arrangements. He expressed deep sympathy for the family, who are understandably devastated by this loss.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson emphasized that their focus is on supporting the family during this tough time. He reassured everyone that there’s no evidence suggesting anyone else was involved, and they’re continuing their inquiries.
Banks also urged the public to refrain from speculation, as it doesn’t help the grieving family. He asked for privacy for them, especially given the tragic nature of losing a child.
Local residents have been supportive, and police are maintaining a presence in the area to reassure the community. They’re encouraging anyone with information to come forward and speak with officers.
