A police officer faces serious charges after allegedly running over a man in Glasgow, causing injury and endangering his life
Reports say Begley was driving an unmarked police car. She is accused of driving at Mr. Atterson multiple times and hitting his legs. This caused him to fall onto the car’s hood.
The charges claim she kept driving while he was on the bonnet, putting his life in danger. She also faces a charge of reckless conduct.
Another charge states she didn’t stop to give her name and address. A third charge says she failed to report the incident to the police quickly.
Last week, Begley pleaded not guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court. A trial is set for May, with a hearing in April.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed her arrest for assault and road traffic offenses. This occurred on Eccles Street in Glasgow on November 17, 2023. She appeared in court on January 30, 2025.
