During his visit to Centrepoint, Prince William emphasized the need to support young people facing homelessness and shared inspiring stories.
Ealing: Prince William recently visited Centrepoint, a charity focused on helping young people facing homelessness. He’s been a patron for 20 years and wanted to see how they’re making a difference.
He met some incredible young people who’ve turned their lives around. They’ve faced tough times but are now studying at university and even starting their own businesses. It’s really inspiring!
William joined in on a fun game of table football with the residents. He joked about the seriousness of the game, saying he didn’t want to let anyone down. It was a light-hearted moment that showed his down-to-earth side.
One young woman, Bethany, shared her story of how Centrepoint helped her escape homelessness when she was just 17. She’s now studying at the London School of Economics, and it was clear how much the charity meant to her.
William praised her journey, calling her a shining example of what support can do. After a friendly match that ended in a draw, he moved on to join a boxing session, getting into the spirit of things with some jabs and hooks.
He also met Nora, a young woman who started her own hairdressing salon despite her struggles. He was impressed by her story and stressed the importance of early support for young people.
William pointed out that the “cliff edge” of homelessness is a real concern. With the right help, young people can climb up, but without it, they can fall hard. He’s committed to making a change.
Centrepoint’s CEO praised William as a true ambassador for the cause. His visit is part of a larger project he’s working on to tackle homelessness, and it’s clear he’s passionate about making a difference.
