Richmond: The cadets from 2040 (Richmond) Squadron are busy planning a fundraising event. They want to buy new equipment for their growing group.

On Thursday, February 20, around 30 cadets will host the event at Richmond Town Hall. The entry fee is just £1.50, which includes tea, coffee, and biscuits.

The fun starts at 9 am and runs until midday. There will be a tombola, a raffle, and a big cake sale. The cadets are excited to raise funds for equipment that will enhance their experience.

Currently, the squadron has 50 members and is led by Flight Lieutenant Mike Donnelly. He hopes to attract more adult volunteers to support the squadron.

Donnelly explained that both staff and a civilian committee are essential for the squadron’s success. Right now, they only have three parents filling key roles.

The civilian committee helps the squadron run smoothly, raises funds, and keeps everything on track. They welcome anyone from the local community to join.

If you want to help or donate items for the tombola or raffle, please reach out. You can contact the squadron by emailing oc.2040@rafac.mod.gov.uk.
