Severn Trent is gearing up for more roadworks on the A44, starting January 27 and lasting until late April. Expect traffic lights along the route.
Lower Moor: So, here’s the scoop. Severn Trent is back at it again with roadworks on the A44. They’re kicking things off on January 27 and plan to wrap up by the end of April. Sounds like a long haul, right?
Traffic lights will pop up starting from Salters Lane and will gradually make their way toward Evesham. It’s going to be a bit of a hassle for drivers, but it’s all for a good cause.
Paul Hughes, the community communications officer at Severn Trent, sent out a letter thanking everyone for their patience. He mentioned that they’ve already laid down a new water main along the A44, which is great news.
After the Christmas break, they’ll be back to fix up some areas that didn’t meet their standards. They’ll start from Salters Lane and work their way toward Evesham again.
Now, don’t be surprised if you see some downtime during the work. Sometimes, they’ll just be waiting for materials to arrive. It’s all part of the process.
Mr. Hughes reassured everyone that they’re aiming to finish by the end of April, but things might shift a bit due to unforeseen circumstances. Just a heads up!
This project is part of a bigger plan to replace 7.3 kilometers of aging pipes between Fladbury and Greenhill, which started last January and cost around £2.2 million. Quite the investment!
Roadworks had moved off the road back in November 2024, but now they’re back to ensure a reliable water supply for the community. Mr. Hughes understands that roadworks can be a pain, especially when they drag on, and he appreciates everyone’s patience.
