Joe McFadden lauded Swindons Wyvern Theatre, calling it “one of the best”. He shared tour experiences and the shows fun in Swindon.
Joe McFadden was on “Holby City.” He won “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2017. He has many theatre roles too.
Joe acted in “Aladdin” and “2:22 A Ghost Story.” He was also in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” Now he’s doing “The Rocky Horror Show” in Swindon.
Joe spoke with the Swindon Advertiser. He shared tour highlights. He said Swindon’s theatre is “one of the best.”
Joe likes playing the Narrator. The audience yells things at him. It was scary at first. He realized it’s part of the fun now. He just goes with it.
He thinks the show is about misfits. He believes that everyone is a misfit. People really connect with it.
It lets them relax and have fun.
Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre will shut down in 2027. They plan to replace it. Joe said local theatres are very important.
Joe has performed in Swindon before. He calls the theatre a “jewel.” He has played many British theatres. He thinks this one is great. The audience is lively there.
Joe feels touring is great. Audiences like Swindon’s get excited. The theatre feels like the town’s heart. You need not go to London for great theatre.
Strictly prepared him for opening nights. He was very nervous doing Strictly. Now, openings don’t scare him as much.
Joe suggests that people see the show. It helps them forget their problems. The music is like a rock concert. It has funny moments and great songs.
“The Rocky Horror Show” is playing there. It will run February 21 to March 1, 2025.
Christopher Luscombe directs it. The tour includes classic songs. You will hear “Sweet Transvestite.” “Dammit Janet” and “Time Warp” are included.
Joe only plays the Narrator in Swindon and Llandudno. You can buy tickets for £22 online.
