Castle Green Homes faces a planning breach notice for working outside approved hours on Trevalyn Place
Rossett: Castle Green Homes got a notice from the council on January 23. This was after complaints about work happening in the evenings and on weekends at the Trevalyn Place development.
The development must follow a Construction Method Statement. This statement includes the approved working hours.
Wrexham Council warned that if Castle Green Homes breaks the rules again within six months, they could face prosecution.
Castle Green Homes explained they wanted to finish footpaths, cycle paths, a bus stop, and a pedestrian crossing before Christmas. So, they worked late and on weekends.
David Fitzsimon from Wrexham Council said the development must stick to the Construction Method Statement. Complaints about work outside approved hours led to the breach notice.
The notice takes effect 28 days after being served. It requires the developer to follow the specified working hours.
Fitzsimon added that if work continues outside these hours within six months, the developer could be in trouble. Local residents often help provide evidence for such cases.
A spokesperson for Castle Green Homes said they are also building new footpaths, cycleways, a bus stop, and a pedestrian crossing. They wanted to finish these improvements before Christmas.
They assured that the work done in the evenings and on weekends was to benefit residents. They have since met with Wrexham County Borough Council to discuss the situation.
