Today was action-packed for the royals, featuring boxing, horse riding, and a heartwarming encounter with a therapy dog
London: It was quite a day for the royals, with some engaging in various activities both at home and abroad. The Prince of Wales got in on some boxing action while visiting Centrepoint, a charity that helps young homeless folks.
William, 42, looked like he was having a blast as he put on some gloves and threw a few punches. He met some of the young people supported by the charity in Ealing, which is in west London.
This year marks a special milestone—20 years since William became a patron of Centrepoint. The charity does amazing work, providing beds and support services for young people aged 16 to 25 who are facing homelessness.
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla was busy too, visiting the new emergency department at Great Western Hospital in Swindon. She had a delightful moment meeting Fenton, a therapy dog, which seemed to be the highlight of her visit.
Camilla, 77, praised the hospital for its community service and shared that her grandkids have been treated there before. She spent time chatting with staff and patients, including a sweet four-year-old named Jackson.
Camilla reminisced about her last visit to the hospital, saying it had been 47 years since she was there when she had her daughter. She expressed her admiration for the hard work everyone has put in to make the hospital a great place.
On another front, Princess Anne kicked off her two-day trip to South Africa, where she visited the South African Riding for the Disabled Association. This organization is similar to a UK charity she supports, using horse riding to help those with physical disabilities.
She flew to Cape Town and, unfortunately, her husband wasn’t with her due to a suspected injury. During her visit, she’ll also honor the contributions of black South Africans and others who served as military laborers in World War I.
As president of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, she’ll unveil a memorial in Cape Town to honor over 1,700 South Africans who served but have no known grave.
