Wrexham: A drug-dealing rugby player crashed his BMW after a wild police chase. Maredudd Francis, 31, used to captain the Welsh rugby team RGC. Now, he’s facing serious consequences for his reckless driving.

Francis sped down the M56 at 139mph, weaving through traffic without signaling. He didn’t stop for red lights either. The chase ended when he crashed into a red pick-up truck, sending it skidding.

After the crash, Francis jumped out of his smoking car with his hands up. Police noticed he smelled of cannabis and saw him tossing white packages from the window during the chase. They had been tracking him due to his links to a drug chain.

Francis was arrested for dangerous driving and suspected money laundering. He tried to destroy his phone but admitted to having a large amount of cash in his car. This led police to search his home, where they found 8.6kg of cocaine and 380kg of cannabis.

They also discovered designer items like a Rolex watch and Versace sunglasses. Francis was sentenced to four years in prison for his actions. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including dangerous driving and drug possession.

Prosecutors highlighted his reckless behavior, noting his complete disregard for others on the road. The evidence found in his vehicle and home confirmed he was involved in serious drug dealing.
