Runcorn All Saints Primary School has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, showcasing improvements in various areas since the last inspection.
Runcorn: The school, located on Church Street, recently had an inspection on September 24 and 25, 2024. The inspectors looked at many things, like how well the kids are learning and how the school is managed.
They found that everything was rated ‘Good,’ which is a big step up from before. The kids at Runcorn All Saints feel safe and valued, which is so important.
They really take pride in their diverse community and enjoy learning. The school has high expectations for everyone, including those with special needs. The kids are attentive and eager to share what they’ve learned.
They also help students learning English as a second language, making sure they get the support they need to improve their skills. The vibe in the school is warm and focused, with hardly any disruptions.
Students love the extracurricular activities, like trips to the zoo and beach, plus taking care of school pets like chickens and a dog named Dexter. The curriculum is broad and well-planned, ensuring that important knowledge is taught effectively.
Teachers are well-supported and provide clear explanations in their lessons. However, the school’s data from 2023 showed that some students were below the national average in reading and math.
This was due to a few factors, like staffing changes and students joining at different times. While they’ve made great progress, there are still areas to work on.
Some assessment methods need tweaking, which can cause learning gaps. Also, a few students struggling with reading might not get enough chances to practice their phonics.
The school really focuses on attendance and works with families to keep it high. They also teach kids about safety, both in the community and online.
The governing body, led by Chair Kim Smith, has been doing a great job supporting the school’s growth. The inspection team, led by Ruth Moran, confirmed that the school’s safety measures are solid.
