So, the Met Office has put out some weather warnings because Storm Eowyn is on its way, bringing winds that could hit 90mph. Yikes!
In a recent study by MG Timber, they ranked the top 10 rainiest spots in Scotland. This list shows where flooding is most likely to happen.
Guess what? Dumfries topped the list with a whopping 1404mm of rain last year. That’s a lot of water!
Dumbarton came in second with 1328mm, and Clydebank was right behind at 1314mm. It’s wild to see how much rain these places get.
Here’s the full rundown of the top 10 rainiest areas and their rainfall totals from last year:
- Dumfries – 1404mm
- Dumbarton – 1328mm
- Clydebank – 1314mm
- Johnstone – 1310mm
- Paisley – 1307mm
- Renfrew – 1301mm
- Greenock – 1290mm
- Aberdeen – 1287mm
- Bearsden – 1282mm
- Barrhead – 1242mm
They also looked at the areas with the least rainfall. St Andrews was the driest with just 618mm. Not too shabby!

- Glenrothes – 801mm
- Kirkcaldy and Dysart – 814mm

Oh, and there’s an amber wind warning for most of southern Scotland this Friday from 6am to 9pm. Better hold onto your hats!
