The Scottish SPCA has launched a new service to help match pets with their ideal owners based on preferences and lifestyle.
This new system lets you list your preferences and lifestyle, so you get a tailored list of pets that might be just right for you. It’s like finding your “paw-mate”!
Jennie Macdonald, who heads up fostering and rehoming, mentioned that they’ve revamped the whole process based on feedback. They want to make it easier for everyone involved, especially for the animals.
Now, you can create an account and fill out one application instead of doing it for each pet you’re interested in. This change is a big deal and should make things smoother for everyone.
Jennie also said they’re really focused on understanding what each person needs. They want to listen and ensure that every match is a good one.
Last year, they saw a 13% rise in adoptions and a 21% increase in fostering, which is fantastic! It’s helped reduce the time animals spend in care, too.
If you’re on the fence about adopting, fostering is a great option. It’s especially helpful for pets that might not do well in a kennel or need a little extra love and care. Fostering gives these animals a chance to thrive and helps the charity learn more about them for future placements.
