Shipley YBS Branch to Host Financial Fraud Advice Event

Yorkshire Building Society has an event February 12, from 10 AM to 3 PM. The location is Well Croft, Shipley, at the Yorkshire Building Society branch.

This event helps you avoid scams and provides advice and resources to keep you and your money safe. It’s open to everyone.

A study prompted this event; Opinium surveyed 2,000 UK adults in May 2024, revealing that over half faced some kind of scam. Online scams are the most common type, but phishing and identity theft also happen often.

Hannah Bingle of Yorkshire Building Society said most people encounter scams. Fraudsters use many tricks to get your money and personal information.

Yorkshire Building Society supports Take Five, a UK Finance-led campaign backed by the government. Take Five gives advice on fraud protection to help people stay safe from financial fraud.
