RWB Auctions in Royal Wootton Bassett features rare historical items, including a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth and a compass from the Battle of Trafalgar.
Royal Wootton Bassett: RWB Auctions is celebrating its first birthday with an exciting auction of rare British historical artifacts. Collectors can bid on some really cool items from famous historical figures.
One standout piece is the compass used by Captain Durham during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. This 16-point compass is inscribed with his name and the battle date, making it a real treasure for history buffs.
Captain Durham was quite the sea captain, and even Admiral Nelson mentioned him before the battle. The auctioneers expect this compass to fetch at least £1,500.
Another highlight is a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth I, known later as the Queen Mother. Dated 1939, it features her in a stunning ball gown and is expected to sell for around £1,000.
Plus, there’s some 16th-century embroidery made by Mary Queen of Scots, which is also estimated to go for at least £1,000. It’s amazing to think about the history behind these items!
The auction will take place on January 29 at 11 am at 144 High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett. If you’re a fan of history, this is definitely an event to check out!
