Rickmansworth: Beaver Bridges is working on a new pedestrian bridge. They shared a sneak peek of the construction progress.

The bridge is being built in Doncaster. It’s mostly funded by developer contributions. Once completed, it will replace the old bridge off Riverside Drive. This new bridge will connect to the 41-hectare nature reserve.

The new bridge will be 48.6 meters long and 3 meters wide. That’s double the width of the old bridge! It’s designed for pedestrians, wheelchairs, buggies, and cyclists to pass safely.

The area around the bridge will be nicely landscaped. This will provide beautiful views of Batchworth Lake.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, the Lead Member for Leisure, mentioned that the bridge will enhance the entrance to the Aquadrome. He thanked everyone for their patience while the old bridge is closed until Easter 2025.

He assured the public that the Aquadrome remains open. Visitors can access it via the car park, the canal towpath, or by following the diversion signs.
